New Gotham, Saturday
"Braaaaaains," Dinah chanted at Gabby. "Huuuuuuungrrrrryyy..."

"You need more blood on your face, hold still," her roomie answered.

The accoutrements of zombification were everywhere around their apartment. As well as the canned goods needed for their entry fee.

Now all they needed was an army.

[ooc: for those going zombie-walking! threads up in a second.]

Re: And the Aftermath

Was there such a thing as aspirin for a person with no mouth? Or pulse? Because Jono could use pretty much all of those, please. He was sitting in a daze with a length of gauze against his face, not worrying about covering his flames so much as maybe managing to staunch his nosebleed instead.

If people were staring, he really wasn't paying attention to them. He couldn't care less. The world was kind of flickering into and out of focus around him, and he would nap forever just as soon as they were done here.

Mmm, napping.

At least things were fairly quiet around here. With the exception of that incessant ringing in his ears, anyway.

Re: And the Aftermath

On his way around the group, Hannibal spotted Jono sitting there. He took a moment just to look at him, curious. Then he walked over and crouched down in front of him, tilting his face to the light. "Jono?"

Re: And the Aftermath

//Mm?// Jono looked up when he was prompted to, though his eyes were solid white, making it difficult to see where they were focused or if they had found something to focus on at all. //Oh. H'lo. 'S...// He squinted a bit. //H'lo.//

Coherent words were for losers.

//Sorry, sorry, it's been...// He waved the hand that was holding the gauze as if that somehow illustrated his point better than nice, coherent words possibly could. //S'good. Tiring, is all.//

Re: And the Aftermath

Yes, the lack of eyes made this a bit of a challenge. "No apologies needed." Hannibal caught Jono's hand and tilted his head back slightly. He folded the gauze a bit more effectively and guided Jono's hand to press where it needed to. "Can you tell me what you need?"

Re: And the Aftermath

Jono's brow furrowed a bit, but he did as he was guided to do, closing his eyes as he did so.

//I need th'spots to go away and to take the buzzing -- hear that buzzing? -- along with'm.//

There was no buzzing, Jono.

//Maybe tuck m'brain back into m'head. Feels like s'escaping.//

Re: And the Aftermath

"Quiet, dark, and rest." Hannibal couldn't tell if this were a normal migraine, or something specific to telepathy, but that much he could do. With anyone else, he'd be concerned about brain damage, but he'd seen Jono without a head and functioning perfectly well, so he doubted that was a consideration.

He looped an arm around Jono. "Can you walk?" Or he could always carry him again.

Re: And the Aftermath

Oooh, an arm. Jono was going to just lean heavily against Hannibal, then, since there was an arm there. That was what arms were for. Presumably. Jono was going to presume that was what arms were for.

//Yyyeeaa-no. Nooo bloody chance.//

He'd kept that wall of flame going for several minutes while also trying to poke around in the head of a creature with the mental complexity of a toddler coupled with the sheer stubbornness of a brick wall. He'd been trying to overwrite instinct, which would have been difficult enough without throwing flame from his chest at the same time.

Re: And the Aftermath

Hannibal nodded, pulled out his phone, and texted Dinah and Momoko: Thank you for your hospitality. Jono is ..."dead on his feet" occurred to him, but they might take that the wrong way... exhausted; I will bring him home to rest.

That out of the way, he called Portalocity and began politely but firmly bullying them into moving their scheduled portal up to now.

Re: And the Aftermath

Jono sat there quietly while Hannibal texted, and then again for the phone call, occasionally moving the gauze from his face to see if the bleeding had stopped.

He still wasn't completely certain just how he had so much blood in him. Jeeze.

//Portal's coming sooner...?//

Look! He wasn't completely deaf! Only mostly.

Re: And the Aftermath

Dinah flopped down next to him, and offered him some more gauze. "How're you doing?"

Re: And the Aftermath

Jono made a sort of uncoordinated grab at that gauze, and then he nodded, just a tiny bit.

//Alive, still,// he replied. //S'nice. I like alive. Good way to end these things.//

Maybe still a little punchy and lightheaded, too. A tiny bit.

Re: And the Aftermath

Dinah was feeling that fight a bit too, but she started to wrap up bits of Jono very loosely, then sent, Gonna save my voice by talking like this, if it's cool with you. Takes it out of me.

Re: And the Aftermath

//That works,// Jono decided, watching her hands work as she wrapped him up. //Ears are still ringing, a bit. I'll probably hear you better this way for a while.//

There was a pause, and then a weak sort of sense of 'but what are you going to do?' to follow that statement up. It was collateral damage, in the face of a giant, car-flinging lunatic. Jono wasn't blaming Dinah for the hearing damage so much as he was just stating a fact.

//Hanging in there?//

Re: And the Aftermath

Yeah. Just kinda... sorry? I mean, I love my city, but oh my god, the craziness. Dinah sighed, then hugged him very gently. Thank you so, so much for stepping up. A lot more people could've gotten hurt. Stupid bank robbers.

Re: And the Aftermath

His hand was a little full of gauze, so Jono settled for just leaning back against her.

//Jiminy Cricket could really do no less,// he murmured, shaking his head. //I've still seen crazier. 'M just tired. I don't usually have to use that much power at once while also trying to steer a madman from inside his own head.//
