New Gotham, Saturday
"Braaaaaains," Dinah chanted at Gabby. "Huuuuuuungrrrrryyy..."

"You need more blood on your face, hold still," her roomie answered.

The accoutrements of zombification were everywhere around their apartment. As well as the canned goods needed for their entry fee.

Now all they needed was an army.

[ooc: for those going zombie-walking! threads up in a second.]

Wuh-Oh.

Really, you were all expecting this, right?

[SPECIAL GUEST STAR APPEARING IN AN HOUR]

Re: Wuh-Oh.

First, there was a bank alarm. Which... should have been weird, because hey, it was late Saturday afternoon.

Then yelling. Cars screeching. Something crashing.

Then three guys in masks, and a REALLY HUGE DEAD LOOKING GUY. All of whom stopped in confusion when faced with a horde of zombies.

Edited at 2014-10-05 12:00 am (UTC)

And everyone knew banks were only robbed on TUESDAYS, geez. Saturdays were for kidnappings!

Momoko froze himself. Was this part of the walk thing?

"ZOMBIES?" The big zombie guy looked around, perplexed. "OUT OF THE WAY OF SOLOMON GRUNDY!!!!"

And yes, some of his co-conspirators decided to fire warning shots over the crowd.

Edited at 2014-10-05 01:45 am (UTC)

Momoko's gaze went from confused to sharp and piercing. Training and experience meant he could tell those were not blanks he was hearing.

Still this was New Gotham, so maybe maaaybe he could play it off long enough to get the people out of the way, here. "Braaaaaaaaaiiiins!" He moaned, shrugging his shoulders as if to say "whatever dude, we're just shambling peacefully here - we'll go!"

That had Grundy momentarily confused, swatting at people with no enthusiasm. Admittedly, that was still enough to knock a few people over-- but not to flatten them or send them flying into walls. The rest were trying to follow Momoko's lead.

"STUPID ZOMBIES," Grundy grumbled.

Hey! They weren't stupid, they were brainless! Totally a different thing!

Right, time to break some rules! Momoko leaned over and helped one of the fallen zombies to her feet again, then stepped off the sidewalk and into the street... "BraiiiIIIiiiiins!" She called to the others. "Braaaaaaaaaaaains."

Re: Wuh-Oh.

//It's like New Gotham knew I wanted to hit something today,// Jono mused, his hand creeping up to reach for the top of his wrappings. It would decimate his make-up job, sadly, but like hell he could sit this one out when there were guns being fired over the heads of the crowd. //Honestly, if they weren't firing off guns all willy-nilly, they could've gotten lost among us and they'd probably get away without a hitch. Bloody morons.//

Yes. Yes, he was saying this on a more or less open channel. Because some days you just had to tell people that they were idiots.

But weapons had been fired and people were scattering for dear life, now. It would be difficult to actually catch up with the crowd, at this rate. Poor losers.

Re: Wuh-Oh.

"If they're using Grundy as they're muscle, it's not because they've got an excess of brains for themselves," Dinah said, ducking a little behind a parked car, and peering over to assess the damage. A couple garbage bins might have rolled into the way of those guys, but she was trying to be at least half-way under cover.

Re: Wuh-Oh.

//Fabulous,// Jono muttered, ducking behind the car along with her. So long as his face was still covered, his fire wouldn't draw attention their way, after all. //I'm guessing Grundy is the big, extra charming one, then?//

Re: Wuh-Oh.

Dinah grimaced. "He's an urban myth-- well, I thought he was! The last time anyone saw him was at least fifteen years ago." She was looking around frantically, seeing the NGPD taking cover positions along the zombie walk route, trying to shout at the robbers over the chaos. "He's some kind of zombie, he's got the brains of one, and he's really--"

CRAAAAAAASH!

That would be a car going through a shop window, thrown by Grundy.

"--uh, strong." Dinah grimaced, catching sight of two of the robbers heading south down the sidewalk, running fast. "We've got to keep those guys away from the crowd."

Re: Wuh-Oh.

"Woah." Priestly looked up -- and up and UP at the big guy. "That is one hell of an outfit."

He would really like that to be a costume, please.

[ooc: and apparently LJ ate my earlier ping.]

Re: Wuh-Oh.

"Yes. It is," Dinah said, then ducked as said big guy picked up a mailbox and tossed it casually overhand toward their side of the street. "...remember me telling you about that guy, last week?"

Um. Well....

[ooc: no worries!]

Re: Wuh-Oh.

"You mean about the probably fictional weird zombie dude?" Priestly didn't look away from the big guy. "He doesn't look fictional."

He dug a little tin out of his pocket and offered it to the big guy. "Uh. Would you like some fish paste, dude?"

Maybe he was just cranky from low blood sugar.

Re: Wuh-Oh.

"ZOMBIE FOOD?" inquired Grundy, reaching for it. "ZOMBIE... CHEW?"

And now he was rubbing fish paste on his gums.

"...BLEEEEEAH!"
