The Clocktower, New Gotham City
So Dinah's new job was going well. Nikki and Peter had agreed to let her do some skip-tracing on the computer, and shadow them on a few other cases. So far, it was completely confirming her hope that private investigation was the job for her. Even the slow parts were interesting.

Granted, her irregular hours had been even *more* irregular lately, which was why she was crashing at the Tower this morning, instead of back at the apartment.

Also, there were waffles to be cajoled out of Alfred.

[ooc: expecting someone, but open for phone calls/texts.]

"Ooo, I don't wanna screw with Gabby's finals mojo. Would you stay here, too?"

"I could, sure." Dinah grinned, cutting another bite of omelette. "I'll have to study some too, but I'm only worried about one test, and it's a week from now, sooo..."

And hey. Hey! There was no Awkward! Don't look at things too close or they might change, but yay!

Hey, if there'd been potential for awkward, Priestly could have run to Santa Cruz and crashed on Jen's couch.

"Maybe I can help. I mean, not in the knowing any of the answers, sense, but I can read out questions to quiz you."

"Cooool. It's my Ethics and Government class, and I'd like to get an A on it, since half of it is the regs that cover private investigation and the police." Dinah beamed, kicking her legs against the breakfast stool. "And if you want to go on a stake-out, there's one of those happening too later this week. Although maybe I'm the only one that gets excited about that stuff."

"That'd basically be hanging out, only in a car in the dark watching a building with a slightly elevated possibility of danger, right?"

"With some really fun camera equipment!" Dinah, you dork. "And also, pizza!"

"Well, how can I turn down an offer like that?" Priestly grinned. "It's only a slightly elevated possibility of danger, right? 'Cause if you get me killed, then Karla and Momo will super kill us both."

"Promise. This is cheaty divorce work, not anything illegal." She made a face. "Which, I don't love that part of it? But do really love stake-outs. If anyone gets homicidal on this, they have to go through me first, though."

"I am totally cool with you spending time chasing down cheating spouses," Priestly said. "Though knowing New Gotham, that's almost as likely to go weir on you here as it would be in Fandom."

"With our luck, they'll be cheating on their boyfriend with, I dunno, an easily offended ninja. Or an exhibitionist performance artist," Dinah mused. "Or both!"

Yeah, welcome to New Gotham.

"Kinky threesome, or moonlighting career? Could go either way."

"As long as we get evidence, they can go any way they want." Dinah grinned at him. "And maybe this time no one will kidnap or threaten you while you're here."

But where's the fun in that?

"Well, not any more," Priestly said. "You just jinxed it."

Dinah made an attempt to steal his hash browns. "Stick with me, it'll all work out."
